Brewing the Gruff Way
Our Amber Ale is a classic session bitter. Making use of the UK’s finest hops, Fuggles and East Kent Goldings and a smooth malt mouthfeel. Our very first beer

A pale and refreshing Golden Ale, retaining some bitterness to balance with the floral hop characters

So why is it called “P2”? Well after 3 variations brewed, P1-P3, and some serious testing by my friends and neighbours the unanimous vote was for the bottle labelled “P2”. That was it, the beer was named and the shouts of “when are you brewing more P2?” resonate across the village
Malty and slightly sweet with a dry finish, very drinkable
Hops: Fuggles
Strength: – 5.4%
A hoppy ale using Centennial and Amarillo hops. Fermented using Kveik yeast to really help the hop character to shine.

Created by keen homebrewer Gareth in 2023, Gruff Brewery is named after my baseball nickname and reflects long friendships and a strong sense of local community. The obvious addition of “Billy Goat” to Gareth’s nickname by his teammates even provided the basis of the brewery logo. Starting on a 65 litre plant, plans were quickly drawn up to acquire 200 litre kit to increase production. Local pubs, clubs and beer festivals are supplied with an initial range of four core beers.
